Dr. Adane Mamuye is an assistant professor of Computer Science at the University of Gondar and Co-Director of eHealth Lab Ethiopia (www.ehelathlab.org). He received his Ph.D. from University of Camerino, Italy, in 2017. His research interests lie in the area of health data analytics, computational biology and machine learning. He has published about 12 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers (https://scholar.google.com/citations). Currently, he is working with his postgraduate students on applying data analytics techniques on an Ethiopia Health Demographic Survey dataset, analyzing time-series data for weather forecast, and applying image processing techniques for disease stage classifications. He is also collaborating actively with researchers in public health and health informatics. Furthermore, he is involved in 5 health information system projects in eHealth, mHealth and health data quality, and information use with funds from national (Ethiopia Federal Ministry of Health and University of Gondar) and international (European Union, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and others) organizations. These projects aim to improve the collection and use of high-quality routine health information at all levels of the health system, pilot test medical record application and provide technical support towards the digital transformation of the health information system of Ethiopia. Additionally, he is currently working with HISP South Africa to develop health information exchange policies and standards for the Africa Continent. The aforementioned project is financed by Africa CDC. Dr. Mamuye is also one of the reviewers of the ICT for Development for Africa (ICT4DA) Conference.
