Holder of a doctorate in Economics, Antoine Batamba is currently Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Kinshasa where he notably teaches courses in Political Economy, Public Finance, Theories of Public Economy and Public Economy Seminar. In 2015, he defended his thesis that was focused on the theme of corruption and mining governance in DRC.

As a researcher, he works at the Research Laboratory of the University of Kinshasa, “Institute of Economic and Social Research”, where he has occupied the position of Deputy Director since 2017. He is currently supervising a study on the impact of COVID-19 on economic and social life in the DRC. His overall research focuses on the following areas: public sector, public economy, governance of natural resources and institutional economics. He has several publications to his credit. 

He has also supported government actors, civil society and public enterprises in the implementation of the "Challenge of 100-day ", as a results catalyst. To this end, he holds an international certification in "Coaching in Rapid Results Approach", issued by the "Rapid Result Institute" of Washington.

He coordinated several surveys, such as the opinion poll of the Congolese population on poverty in 2004, and the collection of sectoral data for the preparation of the National Poverty Reduction Strategy Document (2006 and 2012). He has also exercised administrative and technical functions and is currently Planning Advisor at the Office of the Prime Minister of DR Congo.
