Bio/Description

Fidèle Berhebwa Balangaliza is a PhD student at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium. He studied agronomic sciences at the Catholic University of Bukavu and has a master's degree in agribusiness from Kenyatta University. He has worked in several national and international organizations. Currently, he is a researcher and a lecturer at the Official Université Officielle Bukavu (UOB). He is also a Congolese citizen of the Democratic Republic of Congo.  He speaks several languages including French, Swahili, and English. He has travelled to several countries in Africa and the European Union. 

His career objectives are to:  (1) be a university educator to share quality knowledge with students, (2) be a research and development professional who can offer quality services to international or local research and development organizations, as well as associations, unions, federations or confederations of farmer producers,  and private actors of the agro-industrial sector, (3) contribute to the construction of a well-organized and well-structured rural world in which farmers are grouped together in a representative, dynamic and economically strong associative movement of solidarity that influences decisions on local development in a peaceful manner, (4) collaborate with the different internal and external actors to promote a protected environment and participate actively in the governance of natural resources, and (5) contribute to scientific research in agribusiness, especially in food security and value chains.
