
Habiba Djebbari is currently an associate professor at Aix Marseille School of Economics (AMSE) at Aix-Marseille University. She received her doctoral degree in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Her research interests include applied econometrics and development economics. She has field research work experience in Togo, Mali, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Peru, Mexico, Colombia, India, and Bhutan. Her publication record includes the Annual Review of Economics (2020), Journal of Applied Econometrics (2012), Journal of Econometrics (2008, 2009), and the Lancet Global Health (2015).
She was elected Director of the Development Economics and Growth division at AMSE and was Chair of the Econometrics Society Africa Region Standing Committee in 2018-19. She is a fellow of the Econometrics Society (2020-), an IZA Research fellow (2005-), and a scientific mentor for the Partnership for Economic Policy (2005-) and the African Economic Research Consortium (2019-).
