Hugues Fausther Bovendo is a research associate in Dr Gary Kobinger ‘s team. During the past 5 years, Dr Fausther Bovendo has used his expertise in immunology to produce human monoclonal antibodies (mAb) against emerging viruses. Using flow cytometry based cell sorting, he isolated therapeutic mAb against the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV2), the human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV), the human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) and the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHF). His current research interests include a) the development of monoclonal antibodies against additional emerging pathogens and b) the optimization of DNA and RNA-based antibody gene transfer.
Dr Fausther Bovendo is also involved in capacity building in Central and West Africa to improve the surveillance and diagnostic of emerging pathogens.
