Kacana Sipangule Khadjavi is a research data steward at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, School of Business and Economics, and an affiliated postdoctoral researcher at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
She is a development economist whose research focuses on smallholder agriculture and rural household dynamics in sub-Saharan Africa. She mostly applies household survey data analysis and economic experiments in her work. She is also interested in research-on- research integrity and responsible research practices in Africa.
She holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Goettingen, a Master of Science degree in economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in development studies and economics from the University of Zambia. She has held visiting positions at the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics (UNU-WIDER), the Oxford Department of International Development, and was previously employed as the Director of the Poverty Reduction, Equity and Growth Network (PEGNet).
