Khedidja Allia is chemical engineering Professor and Research Director at the University of Sciences and Technology (USTHB), Algiers, where she is involved in teaching, research, and supervision of students at different levels (Ph.D, Masters). She was previously affiliative with the National Polytechnic School, Algiers (ENP). She holds an engineer diploma, post-graduate experience in Fluid Mechanics from the University of Algiers and a joint Chemical Engineering Doctorate in Science from National Polytechnic School, Algiers (ENP) and Thames Polytechnic-School–London-Great Britain.
She made numerous scientific contributions to the field of chemical engineering (multi- phase systems, refining and petrochemicals, energy), environmental engineering (wastewater treatment, solid waste, etc.) and trans-disciplinary social and human sciences for engineering education (ethics, DRR, etc.), which have led to publications in recognized scientific journals, as well as in national and international communications. In addition, she has been responsible for national research projects such as CNEPRU and PNR, a researcher at the Research and Development Department (SONATRACH), a Fulbright Researcher at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Cornell University, USA, and UNESCO Expert. She was Director of the North African Centre for Engineering and Technology Education (NACETE); satellite of UICEE - UNESCO. She served as Director of Higher Education in the Ministry (MESRS), and as Director of the Industrial Chemistry Institute (USTHB) and Head of the Chemical Engineering Department at ENP, in addition to having chaired the scientific councils of the Industrial Chemistry Institute (USTHB) and the Chemical Engineering Department at ENP.
