Manoah Muchanga is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Zambia. In 2013, he enrolled for Doctoral Studies at the University of Zambia, School of Natural Sciences and was awarded a generous SASSCAL Scholarship from the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies. In 2020, he obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Geography with a focus on water and sediment science in small reservoirs.  He has published on climate change education, environmental education and geography widely. Between 2014 and 2015, Manoah Muchanga was one of the chief editors for the Environmental Education Bulletin for Southern Africa. 

In 2020, he was appointed Thematic Lead for the SADC research project aimed at understanding the impact of COVID-19 on the educational lives of the excluded youth, commissioned by JET Education Service and funded by UNESCO. The latter institution also hired him to pilot and review a resource book titled Climate Change in the Classroom, which is currently published online. Currently, Manoah Muchanga is a researcher on an ongoing collaborative research project between University of Zambia and University of South Africa, the focus of which is on understanding the effect of Pliocene-Pleistocene Climatic Changes on the Evolution of Orange and Zambezi River Basins. He is also a principal member of the strategic planning technical team for the protection and restoration of the Magoye River in Southern Zambia. Muchunga also sits on the Strategic Planning and M&E Committee of the University of Zambia, and is a co-founder and director of the Widelogic Consultancy and Training, an organization whose focus is on Research and Strategic Planning.
