Bio/Description

With over fifteen years of research experience in the economic and political landscape in the Arab world, Dr Nouh El Harmouzi has developed a sharp understanding of the underlying geopolitical factors affecting the Arab World and more broadly the MENA Region. Dr El Harmouzi currently serves as the Executive Director of the Arab Center for Scientific Research and Humane Studies and also serves as the Chief Editor of the Arabic news and analysis website MinbarAlHurriya.org. Before returning to Morocco, Nouh worked as Assistant Professor at Aix-Marseille University (France). He is now professor of economics at Ibno Toufail university in Morocco.

Dr El Harmouzi’s current research interests relate to institutional changes, economic policies, beliefs and informal institutions in the Muslim world. He dedicated part of his research to the topic of belief system in relation to economic development/stagnation. He has in these regards authored a number of books, reports and articles. Dr El Harmouzi is regularly invited to give TV interviews in different Arab Media supports.

Dr El Harmouzi holds a PhD in Economics from Aix-Marseille University in Aix En Provence, France. On a personal note, Nouh is a world traveler based currently in Rabat (Morocco) where he enjoys practicing sports and playing traditional oriental music.
