
Raouf Boucekkine has been a professor of economics at Aix-Marseille University since 2011. Before this, he had been a professor at UCLouvain in Belgium from 1998-2013, at Universidad Calors III de Madrid from 1993-1998, and was a part-time research professor at Glasgow University from 2007-2010. He was elected as a fellow of the Econometric Society in 2020 and is an honorary senior fellow of the Institut Universitaire de France, being nominated a senior member in 2014.
Raouf Boucekkine has been, among others, director of the Institute for Advanced Study at Aix-Marseille University, IMéRA (2015-2020), scientific director of Aix-Marseille School of Economics (2011-2015), co-director of the Center of Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) at UCLouvain (2008-2010), and deputy chairman of the department of economics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (1997-1998). He has also served as president-elect, then president, of ASSET (Association of Southern-European Economic Theorists) from 2013 to 2017.
Raouf Boucekkine has published approximately 115 papers and has co-edited two books. Three quarters have been published in economics, and the rest being published in applied mathematics, demography, and interdisciplinary. He is the associate editor of several international journals, including the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Journal of Mathematical Economics, and Macroeconomic Dynamics. He has been involved in several initiatives in Africa. In particular, he has been the head of an interdisciplinary research cooperation mission in Southern Kivu from 2008-2013 and a member of the economic advisory board to the Algerian government from 2015-2017.
