Rim Lahmandi-Ayed is a full professor in economics and the head of the research unit of “Economic and Statistic Modeling and Analysis”, which she founded in 2014 within Higher School of Statistics and Information Analysis (ESSAI, Université de Carthage). She is the associate editor of JPET and JME. She was director of ESSAI from 2011-2017. She is a graduate of the prestigious French engineering school, Ecole Polytechnique (1991) and a doctor in economics (1995). She founded and managed the research master “Modeling in Economics and econometrics”  at the Tunisia Polytechnic School from 2004 to 2013. She is a member of the steering committee of the Euro-African Conference in Finance and Economics (CEAFE) and was a member of the organizing and scientific committees of all its editions (2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018). She organized several scientific events such as the regular MASE seminar, Doctoral Day (2014, 2016), Mediterranean Day (2019), and other events open to the socio-economic world:  Firms forum of ESSAI (ESSAI Forum enterprises) 2013 and 2015 and wide audience workshops. She supervised 4 doctoral theses (2007, 2011, 2013, 2016), in collaboration with Paris 1 and Aix-Marseille. She is a member of EIEA (UM6P, Morocco and Mines Paris Tech PSL). She published numerous articles on industrial economics and economic theory in prestigious journals such as IER, IJIO, ET, JME, JPET, and ERE.
