
Dr Samira Boulahbel-Bachari is a Permanent Researcher at the Center for Research in Applied Economics for Development (CREAD) in Algiers since 2007. She received her engineering and her master's degree in mathematics, option probability and statistics from Houari Boumediene University of Science and Technology (USTHB). She also earned a PhD in Economics and Applied Statistics from the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSSEA). Her academic work focuses mainly on issues related to development economics (labor migration, labor market, poverty and living standards, financial inclusion) and the macro-economic modeling with agents-based systems. She was leader of Dynamics and Regional Disparities’ team. Presently, she operates as Director of the Macroeconomics and Economic Integration Division. She is author and co-author of several national and international publications and communications. Dr. Boulahbel's research is currently focused on topics related to economic diversification and structural change in rentier economies.
