
Dr. Awondo is an Associate Researcher with the Alabama Center for Insurance Information and Research (ACIIR) at The University of Alabama. His research interests focus on insurance and risk management, decision making under risk and uncertainty, behavioral economics, development economics, applied econometrics, actuarial sciences, and artificial intelligence.
Prior to joining ACIIR, he served as Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Georgia, Tifton Campus from 2014 -2016.
He is a graduate from The University of Georgia, Athens with a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and M.S. in Statistics. He also earned an M.A. in Economics from University of Toledo, OH and Ingénieur Agronome from Université de Dschang, Cameroon. He is the recipient of The University of Georgia AAE outstanding Ph.D. student award in 2014 and Cameroon Ministry of Higher education best student award in 2001.
He is a member of American Economic Association, American Risk and Insurance Association, Southern Economic Association, Southern Risk and Insurance Association, International Insurance Society, Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, African Finance Association, American Statistical Association, and The Statistical and Applied Mathematical Sciences Institute.
