Baduku is Nigerian and came to African University of Science and Technology (AUST) in 2015 from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, where he received a second-class upper degree in Petroleum Engineering. He was offered an AUST scholarship to study petroleum engineering. While studying at AUST, he carried out research work on comparative analysis of power generation options on the AUST campus. This was done under the supervision of Professor David Ogbe and Dr. Alpheus Igbokoyi.

He was featured as one of the most outstanding and active participants during the first edition of Industry and Innovation Day, organized by the African Research Materials Society (AMRS), where he pitched his ideas that pertain to the provision of a 24/7 power supply on the AUST campus.

He worked as an intern at Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), Kaduna. He currently manages his own company, Gagdi Integrated Investment Limited (GIIL), with the goal of supplying petroleum products, such as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Dual Purpose Kerosine (DPK), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas, to consumers in Nigeria.
