Uchechi Shirley Anaduaka is a lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Economics, Hong Kong Baptist University. 

Her broad research interests center around child, adolescent and youth development, the welfare of African women and migrants.

She received her Ph.D. in Economics from Lingnan University, where she studied as a Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) scholar. Her Ph.D. thesis focused on the effects of polygyny on child health and the determinants of birth registration for children under-five years in Nigeria. 

Uchechi holds a Master of Science (Economics) from Warwick University, England, and a Bachelor of Science (Economics) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She has contributed to the scientific community with over 10 journal articles and book chapters. She is a member of the Association for the Advancement of African Women Economists (AAAWE) and Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP).

Uchechi is also the co-founder of Global South Research and Policy Group (GSRPG), an online organization which provides advice and consulting services on scholarship search. Uchechi also volunteers as the SDGs Research and Training Associate for Unique Mappers Network, a not-for-profit organization in Nigeria. When Uchechi isn’t working, she reads novels, writes blog posts, plays board games, watches movies, and dances. Uchechi Shirley Anaduaka was born and received her primary and secondary education in Lagos, Nigeria.
